First Things First

I doodle.

If anything has been constant in my design career, it’s that I doodle first. No matter how small or large scale a project is, I always get all the initial thoughts through doodling or sketching. I have an endless amount of mediums (lately it’s been Field Notes and Post-Its) in which I doodle in. It’s fun to see what nonsensical things your brain generates given the short amount of time information has been delivered. It’s how I digest problems most of the time. If not doodling, it’s listing. Everything can be handled one step at a time.

How I tackled designing Wink was through collaborating with our copywriter, Bree Hershfeld, first and then sketching the layout together through tiny wireframes. It served as our game plan.
